Sound Level Meter Calibration and doseBadge Calibration
| Noise Meters can arrange for the service and calibration of all Cirrus
and Pulsar Sound Level Meters, Acoustic Calibrators and doseBadge Noise
Dosemeters. It is advisable to have the calibration of noise monitoring
equipment checked each year or as required by any regulations that
your measurements follow. |

Traceable Calibration
The standard calibration that we offer is traceable
to British National Standards. The equipment will undergo detailed
testing to ensure that it meets the relevant standards. For sound
level meters and noise dosemeters, these tests include the frequency
responses (A, C, Z), time responses (fast, slow, impulse) and linearity
of the meter.
Faults and Repairs - Under this standard calibration
service, most adjustments or repairs that have to be made to bring
the meter back into tolerance will be carried out without extra charge.
This excludes failing or damaged microphone capsules and LCD displays,
but most other items are included. |

UKAS Calibration
If you need a UKAS (NAMAS) accredited calibration then this can also be
arranged for most of the Cirrus and Pulsar sound level meters, noise dosemeters
and acoustic calibrators. A UKAS certificate is not included in the standard
"Traceable Calibration" described above. Please contact us for more details
and for a quotation.
Calibration Checks - Sound Level Calibrators
As well as having your sound level meter verified, many regulations state
that you should also use a sound level calibrator (or acoustic calibrator)
the check the general performance of the meter just before making important
measurements. The calibrator emits an accurate and stable tone. It is placed
over the microphone so that the user can check the meter's performance
or, with the more advanced meters, it can check itself.
