• Noise Terminology
  • A non-mathematical review of the metrics used for occupational noise, including practical illustrations and examples.

• The Behaviour of Sound
  • Practical examples to illustrate the effects of transmission, reverberation, absorption and insulation.

• The New Regulations
  • The imminent changes to the Noise at Work Regulations and changes in the HSE's emphasis towards "Best Practice".

• Noise Monitoring Equipment
  • Guidance on instrument specifications, the correct use of sound level meters, calibration and accuracy.

• Practical Workshop
  • The chance to calibrate noise equipment and take measurements of a variety of recorded noise sources.

• Group Discussion
  • Review of the practical results and course elements. General chat with experienced engineers about your noise issues.
