Software and Downloading
The P33 Real-Time Analyser comes with the software and download
cable included in the price.
The meter has both USB and RS232 ports and so should connect
to your computer without difficulty.
The Acoustic Toolbox software offers the following features:
- Real-Time display of the noise levels
- Configuring the meter (similar to using the meter's menus)
- Downloads all measurements
- Graphical and Tabular display of the measurements
- Export to spreadsheet (Excel or similar) for further reporting

| The sound level meter can be controlled remotely via RS232,
USB or optionally over a modem/GSM link. The sound levels in
real-time can be displayed numerically or graphically, for
both broadband and filtered modes. |
|
Although measurements can be displayed in tables, it is usually
much more useful to have them in graphical format. These graphs
can easily be copied into Word or similar word processing or
publishing software. |

Data Export
 |
With so many different data sets available from
the meter, often the most useful option is to export the data
to Excel (or similar spreadsheet program) so that you can easily
create custom reports, graphs and calculations.
All measurements can be exported in this way, from simple
broadband results to 1/3 octave band spectra repeated every
125 ms. |
Sound Level Meter Configuration
 |
The real-time analyser has built-in menus, so
you can configure it without having to connect to a computer.
However, it is often easier to configure it from the computer
screen. There are many different settings, but here are the
most commonly used ones:
- Start screen - Broadband or Filtered, Numerical or Graphical
- Default frequency weightings and time weightings
- Integration times
- Measurement storage options and rates
All these settings can be changed in the field, but it is
useful to be able to set the meter's default settings to
those you use most. |
Licensing This software is included free-of-charge with the meter and may
be freely installed on any computer without restriction. Upgrades
are made available on the Internet as they become available.
