The CR:243/1 is suitable for most long term environmental noise monitoring applications. It is enclosed in boxes designed to withstand the most severe weather conditions and provide protection against vandalism.

If used, the event recognition templates can be used to identify noise events such as aircraft, road traffic, trains, etc.

At the same time as the instrument is measuring noise events the CR:243/1 has three environmental noise measuring groups running. These can be configured by the user.

The unit also stores short Leq samples every second up to a period of seven days (circular store). This data can be used for recalculation of most acoustic parameters using the Acoustic Editor software.

Various Windows based programs are available to communicate with the CR:243/1, offering varying levels of automation and reporting facilities.
